The Capital District’s premier fine arts school, CM School of Fine Arts, is offering a full scholarship for the 2017-2018 school year good toward any area of study, (music, dance, art, or theater), available to students in grades K – 12th who live in the Greater Capital Region. CM School of Fine Arts is inviting students to write a short essay of 500 words or less to express the following:
- What music/dance/art/acting means to me
- Why I want to take lessons
The scholarship value is up to $1,300 for full sponsorship October 2017 – June 2018. The winner will be awarded one of the following programs of study:
- Music lessons (½ hour weekly private lessons or any group music class)
- Dance classes (45 minutes-1 hour group class time per week)
- Art classes (45 minutes-1 hour group class time per week)
- Theater/acting classes (45 minutes -1 ½ hours group class time per week)
This scholarship opportunity is open to all students whether or not they currently taking classes at CM School of Fine Arts. Deadline for entry is Monday, October 2nd at 6:00 PM. Essays can be submitted either electronically by CLICKING HERE to or dropped off in person at the school, located at 1505 Rt. 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Please include a cover page with the student’s name, parent or legal guardian’s name, grade level in school, name of school they attend, and contact information including home address and phone number. All requested information must be provided in order to win.
