August 2013 News

Summer is off to a great start with all of the Summer of Fine Arts Camps at Performance School of the Arts!

imagesCAAYSIPKAll of the little ballerinas had so much fun earlier in the summer finding their dancing feet at Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy Camp and Sleeping Beauty Dance Camp. Aurora herself even came to visit! Professional ballerina, Abigail Reyome, performed as Aurora in a professional production of Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty, as well as performing other solo roles in such ballets as Coppelia, Nutcracker and Le Corsaire. It was a great honor having her here to share her knowledge of the ballet. Our campers showed us how much they learned at their own end of camp performance.

During Musical Theatre Week our special guest was Actor, Professional Playwrite and Motivational Speaker, James Pent Audi, who came in to inspire us and give us tips on acting and how to write plays. At our end of camp performance we performed segments from Singing in the Rain, Anything Goes, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Mulan and Wicked.

Throughout Music and Art Week, we immersed ourselves in fine arts and put on a big variety show at the end of the week. We also had the honor of viewing a beautiful art exhibition with original artwork created during camp.
