Art Class Descriptions
Imagine, Explore, Create!
This school year long course will take the young artist on a journey through many different art techniques and materials such as painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, weaving, and printmaking. The focus will be on the “the process vs the product” to help the artist expand their individual creativity and imaginations. Children will begin to discover their unique artistic independence, the mysteries of combining art mediums, the joy of exploration, the delight of creating something from nothing, and the wonder and pride in serious artistic challenges. The art process will improve the children’s problem solving abilities, cognitive development and self esteem. Art history will be incorporated into lessons to expand the young artists’ creative language.
6-8 year olds Tuesdays 10:00am-11:15am or Thursday 3:30pm-4:45pm
9-12 year olds Tuesdays 12:30pm-1:45pm
Classes will run weekly October through June
