Piano NYSSMA Deadline

NYSSMA (New York State Student Music Association) is an exciting state-wide festival of music that takes place every year, usually in March for pianists and in June for vocalists and other instrumentalists. Students who participate each get a private audition with an adjudicator who assesses their strengths in music as well as areas they can still improve on. The festival is always followed by a special celebration of the students’ success with a Spring Recital Series in our school.

This year's Piano NYSSMA will be held on March 7th & 8th, 2014 at the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. Last year we sent over four dozen students and hope to do the same this year.

NYSSMA Fees:

Levels 1-4 $19,

Levels 5-6 $26

The deadline to register is Saturday, December 14th.  You must register in person at the front desk and can pay by cash or check made out to Performance School of the Arts. You will receive your confirmed times two weeks prior to the festival.

It is important to register your child through our school so that we can get them their scores right away, usually within an hour of their performance.  Registering through our school also allows us to be able to help you and your child(ren) with many other happenings during the busy NYSSMA music festival.
