Wherever we go we are surrounded by the beauty of the season, and with big open arms we welcome October!
We at Performance School of the Arts have been happily settling back into the new school year and we hope you are, too. As usual, we have many special happenings this month including Bring a Friend Week, four different workshops in Theatre, Music Theory, Sculpture Art and Basic Varieties of Dance, our Annual “Thriller” Dance Party and a Faculty Recital & Art Auction. Bring a Friend Week
We are excited to announce that October 7th – October 12th, 2013 is Bring a Friend Week . This is an opportunity for students to bring one friend into their lesson or class to share what they have been learning and to show them what our school has to offer. So hand out those invitations you received last week and let's have some fun!
Theatre Workshop
Join us for an Open Theatre Workshop on Wednesday, October 9th from 4:30 - 7:30pm to see what our Theatre Department has to offer. Learn about our new classes in Acting, Personae, Play Writing, Comedy, Musical Theatre and Set Design.

Music Theory Workshop
Thursday, October 10th from 5:00-6:00pm
Come and enjoy this fun, interactive workshop that teaches the concepts which make up the core of musical science and technique including making reading music easier and improvisation with a little bit of composition.

Basic Varieties of Dance Workshop
Enjoy learning about the basic varieties of dance such as ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and modern at this fun, interactive workshop to be held on Saturday, October 12th from 3:30-4:30pm.

Sculpture Art Workshop
Learn about fun techniques and create awesome original sculptures at this Sculpture Art Workshop on Wednesday, October 16th from 5:30-6:30pm.
Please reserve a space with our front desk by Monday, October 14th to ensure we have enough art materials on hand.
Annual "Thriller" Dance Party
Friday, October 25th - 7:30pm
Join us for an evening of thrills and chills! Learn the moves to Michael Jacksons "Thriller" dance. Candy and spooky surprises throughout the night. Door prize for the best costume. Family and friends welcome.
Faculty Recital and Art Auction
We are excited to announce a very special Faculty Recital and Art Auction to be held on Sunday, October 27th at 4:00pm. You won't want to miss this beautiful variety show which will emphasize all that we teach at our school in music, dance, theatre and art, as well as some of the favorite things our professional faculty enjoys performing and creating outside of school.
This event is also a special way for us to highlight our Student Scholarship Program intended for graduating seniors going onto higher education as well as for exceptionally gifted students participating in our fine arts program.

Fall Music Recital Series & Art Exhibit
Our Fall Music Recital Series will be held Friday, November 8th through Sunday, November 10th. Please sign up at our front desk to reserve a spot in the recital that is most convenient for your family. Sign ups must be done in person. There will be a short reception to follow each recital. If you would like to bring a snack to share, please let our front desk know.

The Opening Reception for our Fall Art Exhibition will be held on Sunday, November 3rd at 3:00pm. All are welcome to celebrate our talented and hard working art students as they show off what they have been learning and creating in their individual art lessons.
