New Class Offerings for 2012-2013

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year.  We are very happy to share with you our fun and exciting programs for this year. We have added a lot of new classes and have grown in numbers with lots of new students!  We have recently added several new teachers, all holding master’s degrees in their respective fields, lots of teaching experience, and above all, the ability to contribute creative, high quality teaching in a fun environment.

In effort to inspire a greater appreciation for the fine arts, we will be offering an ongoing workshop series throughout the year, complementary to students and family members that are a part of our school. Workshops will range in subject matter pertaining to music, dance, art, theater, and other areas related to fine arts. Check our website frequently for workshop listings and special guest master classes so you can sign up to participate; space will sometimes be limited.

New for this month, we will be hosting an interactive Strings Workshop, featuring violin, viola, cello,   and upright bass. The workshop will be held on Saturday, September 29th, at 4:00pm. We would like to say a special thank you to John Keal Music for taking part in this fun workshop. They will be providing us with string instruments for students to try out following live performances and string demonstrations. Friends and family are welcome to participate.

*For students interested in String Orchestra, auditions will be held on Monday, October 1st. Contact the front desk for audition requirements and to schedule an audition time.

Performance School of the Arts is also pleased to offer four different recital series for music, two recitals for dance, and two art exhibitions throughout the school year for students to demonstrate their progress and passion for the arts. Check the October Newsletter when it comes out for more details on our 2012 November Recital Series.

We are very proud to be the Capital District’s only official Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy. Angelina Ballerina Dance Classes are taught through a nationwide network of top quality dance studios.  The curriculum is designed by internationally renowned master teachers and child development experts.  Students who participate in this class will be inspired to pursue their dreams of dance, just like Angelina Ballerina.  We are also very excited to announce that Angelina herself will be making a special guest appearance at our school sometime this fall. Check in with us on dates so you don’t miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to meet her!
