Acting 101
Basic introduction to acting with a heavy focus on improvisation using concepts and emotions that students already relate to as a starting point. This class is designed to help open up students minds in a way that gets them in touch with their creative side while developing skills and techniques for acting. The basic history of theater as an art form is also studied with lessons in the various corresponding styles of acting along the way.

Comedy
Yes, this acting class is exactly as it sounds. It has been said that laughter is the best medicine for the soul. This high energy class is taught by professional actors that present tools and techniques used by celebrated comedic actors Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrell.

Personae
This class is designed to teach actors about connecting with their character and how to present themselves as performers. It is a deep study of character analysis that teaches actors how to really get in touch with the character experience they are trying to create. This class would be greatly beneficial as a supplement to any one already studying acting as well as vocal students and singers wishing to further enhance the quality and effectiveness of their skills.

Set Design
In this unique art class students will focus on designing and creating the set for the Theater Department’s stage productions. We will explore the process of translating a script into a performance by using the basic principles of drawing, painting and sculpture while collaborating with theater directors and actors on their scripts.
